  Morning Update: McCain on Cuba

  John McCain speaks in Florida today and is expected to take a tough line (NYT) on Cuba and Venezuela, saying he won’t “passively await the long-overdue demise of the Castro dictatorship.”

  Bloomberg: New York’s mayor Michael Bloomberg cut his ties to the Republican Party amid increasing speculation he will run for president (WashPost) as an independent.
