Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) will give a speech this morning on the war on terror in which he is expected to call for a redeployment of troops from Iraq to Afghanistan and Pakistan. “If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won’t act, we will,” he will say, according to AP.

In an interview with Larry King, Vice President Dick Cheney criticized Sen. Hillary Clinton’s (D-NY) request for a troop withdrawal plan from the Pentagon. “We don’t get into the business of sharing operational plans (NYT), we never have, with the Congress,” he said.

John Edwards criticized the Saudi arms deal (AP), and said as president he would demand that the Saudis play a bigger role in counter terrorism and stabilization efforts in the region.
