In an interview, Republican candidate Rudy Giuliani goes into the specifics of his immigration plan. He proposes building 700 miles of physical fencing along the border with Mexico and says the U.S. should “fill in the other 1,200 miles on the southwest border with a technological fence.”
Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee attacked Sen. Barack Obama for saying the U.S. needs to “have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians” in Afghanistan. Romney’s spokesperson said the comment was an “entirely inaccurate condemnation of the efforts” of U.S. soldiers. The AP’s “Fact Check” reports, however, that U.S. forces have killed more civilians than insurgents have this year.
