Democratic contender John Edwards said on Face the Nation yesterday that the United States should “work with our European friends and the European banking system” to create economic incentives for Iran to abandon nuclear plans (PDF). He again criticized rival Hillary Clinton’s vote on the Senate Kyl-Lieberman amendment, and expressed concern over the Bush administration’s assertion that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards are involved in proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
Climate change: In a new Grist interview on his climate change and energy policy views, Republican Mike Huckabee said his Christian faith leads him to support conservation. He also advocated letting an “unbridled marketplace” bring about solutions to climate change.
Iraq: Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) in an op-ed in the Des Moines Register, again urged an end to the war in Iraq, which he called “the boulder in the road.”
