Morning Update: Targeting Huckabee
Mitt Romney on Meet the Press yesterday attacked Mike Huckabee’s comments in a new Foreign Affairs article that the Bush administration has an “arrogant bunker mentality.” Romney called on Huckabee to apologize to President Bush.
On CNN’s Late Edition, Huckabee responded: “I didn’t say the president was arrogant. I have said that the policies have been arrogant.”
Fred Thompson on Face the Nation also criticized Huckabee for what he called a “pretty social liberal policy.” Huckabee “wanted to lift the embargo on Castro. Now he wants to close Guantanamo because he thinks it will curry some favor with other nations,” Thompson said.

Romney is so full of it that he needs an overflow bag.
Was Reagan, who attacked Republican President Ford while he was in office, in the middle of the cold war, and who had the nerve of running against his attempt to get a second term, anti-Republican?
Romney cricitized Obama for being honest about his past drug use (I don’t condone his past but admire his honesty) and now criticizes Huckabee for being honest in criticism that most people - including many Republicans - feel about mistakes made by the Bush Administration. See the common thread here - Romney has a problem with people speaking candidly. He has such a problem with it that he never does. The man is not honest.
