In reference to CFR.org’s Daily Analysis brief, “Elusive Immigration Vote,” reader Howard Poffinbarger writes:
I know for the most part that the immigrant vote has been toward the Democrats. They will find disappointment with them or who ever gets elected. The amnesty ordeal is over, it has awaken a sleeping giant and will not return. As more and more states pass laws, the less and less the federal government will have to say about it. I do see states taking thefederal government to court to be reimbursed funds spent on illegals. I watched the Democratic debate in South Carolina the other night and found it kind of funny that of the three Democratic candidates, none included illegal immigrants in their health care plan. I think the Hispanic vote will have a real ‘how are you liking it now?’ moment next year.
