Morning Update: McCain Presses Attack
On Meet the Press Sunday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) continued to press his attack on Mitt Romney for what he said was support for a timeline for withdrawal from Iraq. Romney has called McCain’s allegation “dishonest” (BosGlobe). The two men are seen as the chief Republican presidential candidates competing in the January 29 Florida primary.
McCain also talked tough on immigration policy. Once the border is secured, the United States will have to “get rid of two million people who have committed crimes here,” McCain said. “We have to round them up and deport them.”
WMD: Mike Huckabee defended his statement at the last Republican debate that Saddam Hussein may actually have had weapons of mass destruction. “Did they get into Syria? Did they get into some remote area of Jordan? Did they go to some other place? We don’t know. They may not have existed,” Huckabee said on Fox News Sunday. But, he said, “simply saying, ‘We didn’t find them, so therefore they didn’t exist,’ is a bit of an overreach.”

I am so disappointed that we are unable to locate qualified candidates for the top job in US. Who cares about WMD now? We invaded and Saddam Hussein is dead. We need to concentrate on resolution with current issues, not beating the dead horse over and over again!
