In response to CFR.org’s Online Debate, “Policy for the Next President: Fair Trade or Free Trade,” reader Ron Tanciar writes:
Free trade has done one thing for America and that is to eliminate the backbone of our great country which is the middle class of America. We have lost thousands if not millions of jobs to over seas countries. Why? So the big corporate machines of the world can have slave/cheap labor. Too bad the cheap cost of the goods that are produced in these third world countries are not passed on to the consumer. You see, free trade makes third and fourth world country’s products very cheap to purchase because of their low wage structure.
By eliminating the middle class you replace our great republic with a democratic/socialist form of government. What we see transpiring in this once great and prosperous land is a DELIBERATE destruction of the middle class to make us like socialist countries. We, as a people, will become more and more dependent upon government for our very survival. Just look how many entitlement programs we have today. Now, the Democrats wantsocialized health care. Stop and think for a moment, what’s after socialism?
American sovereignty must be retained. We the people must stop our jobs from going to third world countries. The less government interference in our personal lives the better off we will all be.
Just remember, the U.S. currently has enemies within and without seeking our destruction. It should be obvious that the vast majority of our Congress always votes for more destructive policies. These destructive laws are then signed by the President of the U.S. Such as NAFTA.
Wake up America. It’s time we take our beloved country back.
