Morning Update: Obama on Iraq
Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) announced on Monday that he intends to travel to Iraq and Afghanistan (AP) before the November presidential election. Obama also met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari on Monday. He told reporters he and Zebari discussed his plan to end the war.
The Wall Street Journal on Monday profiled Obama’s Middle East advisory team.
In a press release Monday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said he will call for lifting the federal moratorium on oil exploration in a speech Tuesday.
The New York Times compares McCain and President Bush on a variety of policy issues, including Iraq, immigration, and the war on terror, among others.
