To commemorate International Women’s Day, I sat down with my friend and colleague Rachel Vogelstein, CFR senior fellow and director of the Women and Foreign Policy Program. We talked about the significance of the day, the status of women and girls around the world in 2017, the relationship between women’s advancement and broader U.S. foreign policy interests, as well as challenges and opportunities for advancing global women’s issues in today’s political climate.
